Ripple
Anglican: St Mary
Said to be the largest Medieval church in the county. Parts date back to the Norman period c1200, with work from later periods. The highlight is the chancel containing a set of sixteen 15th century misericords, believed to have been carved locally, showing the labours of the months plus the sun and moon. St Mary’s features in both Simon Jenkins’ 1000 Best English Churches and Betjeman’s Best British Churches (2011).
